With Ontario's COVID-19 passport going into effect tomorrow, the City of Timmins has released details on how the new measure will affect municipal facilities.

Tomorrow (Sept. 22), Ontario's vaccine passport starts. It requires people to be fully vaccinated to go to certain high-risk public spaces.  People are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving their second dose.

At the City of Timmins, it means proof of vaccination is required for indoor meetings and event spaces the McIntyre Community Centre, Archie Dillon Sportsplex, Mountjoy Arena, Whitney Arena and Maurice Londry Community Centre.

Proof of vaccination is also required for people attending adult workshops, meetings and events at the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre, all players 18 years and older playing an organized sport, and all spectators at a game, practise or event for organized sports.

Refunds are available for people who have registered for municipal swimming programs that may not be able to participate because of the new rules. The city said people should contact the pool at 705-360-2655 or [email protected] for refund or credit.
