And snow it starts! (4 photos)

The Timmins area is seeing its first dusting of snow of the season

The Timmins area is getting a taste of what's to come in the months ahead.

The first snow of the season is falling, with today's daytime high forecast to be 2 C. Two days ago, the temperature was above 20 C.

Its arrival is later than last year, when the first snowfall was Oct. 3.

The greatest snowfall recorded by Environment Canada on Oct. 21 was back in 1989 when 9.5 centimetres fell. The most snow on the ground on this day was in 1992 with 5 cm.
