3 new COVID cases reported in Timmins

Three new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Timmins. 

All three people are the contact of a case and in self-isolation, according to the Porcupine Health Unit. 

To date, there have been 559 confirmed cases of the virus in the region since the start of the pandemic. As of yesterday, there have been 432 recoveries and 26 people have died. While the health unit reports new cases on the weekends, the number of recoveries is not updated.

Yesterday, an outbreak of the virus was announced at the Senator Place apartment building. The health unit says there has been a cluster of confirmed cases connecting to the site.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Matheson, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne, as well as communities on the James Bay coast.
