Timmins to celebrate Canada Day online

The Canada Day Steering Committee is transitioning the July 1, 2020 Canada Day Celebrations to a virtual format, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The decision to host the event virtually will ensure that a celebration will occur, with social distancing being a primary consideration.

The tentative schedule of online events is as follows:

• Raising of the Flag
• Opening Ceremonies
• Singing of the National Anthem
• Video presentation by local dignitaries
• Performances by local artists

• Best Canada Day Theme Back Yard
• Best Canada Day Theme Dressed Family

There may be more items added in the weeks to come. A full itinerary, listing the social media platforms where residents can watch the virtual event, will be made available once all the details have been finalized.

By staying apart, we will be able to come together in the future. Please observe the regulations so this can happen sooner rather than later.
