A new COVID-19 case has been reported by the Timiskaming Health Unit.
According to the health unit, it is a person in the south part of the district. It is linked to case 19, which was reported Saturday, Dec. 4.
"The new case is recovering at home. The case is presently under investigation. Contact tracing is underway and those who have been identified as close contacts have been, or are in the process of being notified," reads the bulletin.
This is the 22nd confirmed case of the virus in the Timiskaming Health Unit region.
Since Saturday, four cases have been reported.
In the Timiskaming region, there are assessment centres in the areas of Temiskaming Shores, Englehart, Kirkland Lake, and Temagami. Testing is by appointment only.
