Three more COVID-19 cases reported in Hearst area

A total of four cases have been confirmed in the region today

Three more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the Hearst, Hornepayne area, bringing the total number of cases reported today to four. 

One of the cases is linked to an outbreak, and two people are the contact of a case. All of the people are in self-isolation, according to the Porcupine Health Unit.

This morning, the health unit reported one case in the Hearst, Hornepayne area.

The news release doesn't indicate what outbreak one of the cases is associated with. There are currently three outbreaks in Hearst — Foyer des Pionniers long-term care facility, RYAM Lumber, and the Mason Renaissance treatment centre.

To date, there have been 306 confirmed cases of the virus in the region. Of those, at least 251 are recovered and 24 people have died. While the health unit reports new cases on weekends, the table with the number of active cases is not updated.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
