Some Timmins Transit routes starting earlier to meet increase demand

To meet an increased demand, Timmins Transit service levels are being enhanced.

The transit service has been affected by COVID-19 since March.

It is currently running a Saturday service level, which is being enhanced on weekdays.

Effective Tuesday, Oct. 13:

  • Route 31 (Howard/Brousseau) will have bus service at 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., resuming regular hourly Saturday service levels at 7 a.m.
  • Route 16 (South Porcupine) will have bus service at 6. a.m., 7 a.m., and 8 a.m. and resume regular hourly Saturday service levels at 9:30 a.m.

"Timmins Transit will continue to monitor passenger demand and will make further adjustments to service levels as required," reads the news release.
