Six COVID-19 cases reported in region

Four are in Moosonee and Moose Factory, two are in the Hearst area

Six new COVID-19 cases have been reported by the Porcupine Health Unit. 

Three people are in Moose Factory and one person is in Moosonee. Two of the new cases are in the Hearst and Hornepayne area. 

All of the new cases are the contact of a confirmed case and in self-isolation, according to the health unit. 

To date, there have been 336 lab-confirmed cases of the virus. Of those, 283 are recovered and 25 people have died. There are 28 known active cases — 19 of which are in Moose Factory and Moosonee.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
