Public Health Ontario has confirmed 987 new cases of COVID-19 today, as well as 945 recoveries and 16 deaths.
According to the epidemiology report released this morning, one person between 60 and 79 years old, and 15 people over the age of 80 have died. Among those reported deaths, 11 people were residents at long-term care homes.
Fifty-six people have been hospitalized with the coronavirus since yesterday's report and six COVID patients have been admitted to intensive care units.
More than half of the cases reported today are from Toronto and the GTA with Toronto reporting 319 new cases and Peel reporting 299 new cases. York region reported 85 cases for today's update and Durham reported 62.
Among the 987 cases reported today, 638 cases are individuals between 20 and 59 years old. Today's report also includes 101 school-age cases including 18 kids between four and eight years old, 45 kids between nine and 13 years old, and 38 kids between 14 and 17 years old.
The province noted a total of 116 school-related cases today. There have now been 2,476 school-related cases reported at 581 schools across the province. There are also 16 new confirmed cases in child care centres and homes reported today, bringing the total number of cases reported in child care facilities thus far to 468.
There are currently 76 active COVID outbreaks at long-term care homes, 57 outbreaks at retirement homes, and 19 outbreaks at hospitals across the province.
According to today's report, Ontario labs have processed 28,567 COVID tests since yesterday's update, and there are 33,087 tests awaiting processing. About four per cent of the people who are tested for COVID test positive, based on the overall provincial per cent positivity rate.
Of the current 8,321 active, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, there are 367 people hospitalized with the coronavirus, including 75 COVID patients in intensive care units and 44 COVID patients on ventilators.
The province has confirmed 79,692 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 68,189 of those cases as recovered (85.6 per cent), and 3,182 of those cases as ending in death (four per cent).

Algoma Public Health: 46 cases, rate of 40.2 per 100,000 population. There are three known active cases. The last case was reported Nov. 2.

North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit: 45 cases, rate of 34.7 per 100,000 population. The health unit has reported 47 cases. There are no known active cases.

Porcupine Health Unit: 99, rate of 118.6 per 100,000 population. There are six known active cases. The last case was reported Nov. 1.

Public Health Sudbury and Districts: 131 cases, rate of 65.8 per 100,000 population. The health unit has reported 130 cases. There are seven known active cases. The last cases were reported Nov. 3.

Timiskaming Health Unit: 17 cases, rate of 52 per 100,000. There are no known active cases. The last case was reported Oct. 5.

Northwestern Health Unit: 77 cases, rate of 84.4 per 100,000. The health unit has also reported 76 cases and two probable cases. There are five known active cases.

Thunder Bay District Health Unit: 117 cases, rate of 78 per 100,000. There is one known active case.
The Ontario rate of infection is 536.1.
