One new COVID case in Hearst, Hornepayne area

One new case of COVID-19 is being reported by the Porcupine Health Unit.

It is in the area of Hearst, Hornepayne. The exposure is under investigation and the person is in self-isolation, according to the health unit.

This is the 234th confirmed case of the virus in the health unit region since the start of the pandemic. Of those, 167 are recovered and 11 people have died. There are 56 known active cases.

There are COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Smooth Rock Falls, Hearst, and Hornepayne.
