No new COVID-19 cases reported in Timmins area

The Porcupine Health Unit says there have been no new cases of COVID-19 in the region this morning.

There are currently 31 positive cases of the virus in the health unit's region. 

Of the local cases, 18 are in Timmins, 12 are in the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls, and Smooth Rock Falls, and one is in the area of Kapuskasing, Opasatika, Val Rita-Harty, Moonbeam, and Fauquier-Strickland.

To date, the health unit is aware of 506 tests submitted to date. Of the 31 positive cases, 11 are resolved and two people have died. There have been 372 negative tests, and the results of 103 are pending.

There are currently COVID-19 assessment centres in Timmins, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Kapuskasing. They are by appointment only.
