New COVID-19 case reported in Timmins

The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting another confirmed COVID-19 case in the region.

It is a Timmins person from 20 to 39 years old. Their exposure is under investigation. The individual was tested Oct. 1 and is in self-isolation. It is the 85th case for the health unit region, and 52nd case reported in Timmins.

Of the confirmed cases, 73 are recovered and nine people have died. There are three known active cases.

The health unit is aware of 24,990 tests being done locally, which is an increase of 195 from yesterday's report.
