Six vaccination clinics have been added in the Porcupine Health Unit region.

The Smooth Rock Falls clinic that was postponed Friday has also been rescheduled. That will now take place Sunday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Smooth Rock Falls Community Hall.

All of these clinics are for people living in the region who were born in 1941 or earlier.

"The booking of appointments will be staggered to provide advance notice to eligible individuals, so they have a fair chance of getting an appointment," reads the announcement.

The clinic locations and booking dates are:

  • Kapuskasking Sports Palace, Wednesday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Appointments can be booked Saturday, March 13 starting at 11 a.m.

"Caregivers for individuals over the age of 80 years of age can help book online or contact the health unit on behalf of the individual who qualifies. At this time, caregivers who don't meet the age requirements are not eligible to the COVID-19 vaccine," reads the health unit's bulletin.

For people who do get an appointment for the vaccination, the health unit has a few tips. They are:

  • Do not arrive early. People will not be allowed into the clinic before their appointment time.
  • Do not gather outside.
  • Bring a mask and your health card.
