Here's what you need to know about COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the area

Right now the public clinics are for people 80 years and older, as well as Indigenous adults 55 years and older

The COVID-19 vaccination rollout is underway in the Timmins area. 

In addition to the work being done to vaccinate high-priority health care workers and residents and staff in long-term care homes, public clinics have been announced for high-priority groups.

Here's when they are happening in the area:

Wednesday, March 17

  • Mountjoy Arena in Timmins from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who are 55 years of age or older ( born in 1966 or earlier). Booking is open. 
  • Kapuskasing Sports Palace from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for people in the community who are 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier). Booking is open.
  • Cochrane Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for people in the community who are 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier). Booking is open.

Thursday, March 18

  • Hearst Claude Larose Arena from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for people in the community who are 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier). Booking is open.

Friday, March 19

  • Hearst Claude Larose Arena from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who are 55 years of age or older ( born in 1966 or earlier). Booking is open. 
  • Matheson Curling Club from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's for people in the community who are 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier). Booking is open.
  • Timmins Mountjoy Arena from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for people in the community who are 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier). Booking is open.

Saturday, March 20

  • Kapuskasing Sports Palace  from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who are 55 years of age or older ( born in 1966 or earlier). Booking is open. 
  • Matheson Curling Club from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's for First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who are 55 years of age or older ( born in 1966 or earlier). Booking is open. 

Sunday, March 21

  • Mountjoy Arena, Timmins, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for people in the community who are 80 years and older (born in 1941 or earlier). Booking is open.

Monday, March 22

  • Cochrane Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's for First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who are 55 years of age or older ( born in 1966 or earlier). Booking is open. 

Tuesday, March 23

  • Iroquois Falls Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's for First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who are 55 years of age or older ( born in 1966 or earlier). Booking is open. 

Appointments are required for all clinics and walk-ins will not be accepted.

People who qualify for one of the clinics can book an appointment online here or call 1-800-461-1818.

For people who do get an appointment for the vaccination, the health unit has a few tips. They are:

  • Do not arrive early. People will not be allowed into the clinic before their appointment time.
  • Do not gather outside.
  • Bring a mask and your health card.
