Tickets are now on sale for Conseil des Arts de Hearst’s new artistic season.

The programming, featuring music shows and theatrical performances, includes over 20 events spread from October to June. Invited musicians include Cindy Doire, Marie-Clo, Nicola Ciccone, Michael Faulkner, Kelly Bado, Anique Granger, Reney Ray and more, who will perform a variety of genres ranging from country and classical to reggae and folk.

There will also be exhibitions held at the art gallery throughout the year.

The first show of the season will take place Oct. 1 with a performance by Phil G. Smith and Geneviève et Alain.

The majority of events can be attended in-person with a limit of 50 people or virtually.

Valérie Picard, executive and artistic director at Conseil des Arts de Hearst, said the unveiling of the 2020-21 season and a Camping Royale show held at the end of August went well.

“About 30 people came, which is a good sign, because we weren’t sure what to expect. We launched our season and we started selling our tickets just this week,” she said. “So far, there’s interest for almost all of the shows. It’s encouraging so far, we’ll see how it goes.”

Visitors will be asked to follow safety rules, Picard said, such as wearing masks until they get to their table. There will also be plexiglass barriers between performers and spectators.

“I think people will still be able to enjoy a nice outing and be entertained outside of their houses. I think for a lot of people that’s important at the moment and they’ll be able to do that in safety,” Picard said.

She said it was a “bit of a puzzle” to put the shows together but everyone is “pretty excited.”
