COVID-19 case reported in James and Hudson Bay region

It's the 76th confirmed case in the Porcupine Health Unit's area

For the second-consecutive day, the Porcupine Health Unit is reporting a new COVID-19 case in the region.

According to the health unit, the 76th confirmed case of the virus in the region is an individual in their 20s to 40s. They are in self-isoloation at home in the James and Hudson Bay region. It's the first case of the virus to be reported in that section of the health unit's coverage area.

Of the 76 confirmed cases, 64 are resolved and nine people have died. There are three known active cases in the region — two in Timmins and one in the James and Hudson Bay region.

"The cooler weather is a great time to be active outside with our loved ones this weekend. Continue to be safe and keep a two-metre distance from those outside your social circle," reads today's update.
