Contact North's online learning centre in Porcupine reopened earlier this week.

The doors to the site at Northern College reopened Sept. 8.

“All necessary precautions were taken, including a deep cleaning of the location, availability of hand sanitizer for students, and re-organization of the space to provide for physical distancing. Key touch points in the location will be sanitized 4 times daily to provide a safe and healthy environment for staff and students," said Ashlee Lessard, Timmins territory online learning and recruitment officer.

According to the announcement, on-site student support services include: information about online programs and courses; help registering for online programs or course of choice and financial help; free computer workstations and internet to complete online courses; free use of webconferencing and distance learning platforms to participate in programs; and supervision of written and online exams and tests.

Masks must be worn at the centre.

For students not wanting to visit in person, staff are still available to help virtually.
