With winter hibernation approaching, the Timmins Police Service has been receiving an increased volume of bear reports within the city.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is deferring contract renewal discussions with municipalities while it works with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services on a new billing model for municipal policing services.

The Timmins Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public in locating 15 year-old Alexcis Burnett of Timmins. Police are investigating the disappearance after Burnett failed to advise her guardians of her whereabouts.
