Investigation continuing into fatal motor vehicle collision
 
The Timmins Police Service is continuing their investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, which occurred on Thursday, August 14, 2014. 
 
The victim, Andre Carrier, 60, of Timmins, was crossing Algonquin Blvd. at Mountjoy St. at approximately 9 p.m., when he was struck by a vehicle.
 
He was transported to Timmins and District Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. 
 
Contrary to some reports, the Timmins Police Service can confirm that this motor vehicle collision was not a hit and run situation, and that the driver of the vehicle is known. 
 
Investigators from the Traffic Services Department, the Forensic Identification Section, and the Criminal Investigation Section continue to investigate, and are seeking the public’s assistance in providing information about the collision.
 
Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the collision take place and can provide an independent account of the incident.
