City police are releasing few more details about last night's crash that claimed the life of a 60-year-old male pedestrian. Forensic investigators and traffic reconstructionists were on scene last night, with the intersection closed from 9 p.m.

City police are releasing few more details about last night's crash that claimed the life of a 60-year-old male pedestrian.

Forensic investigators and traffic reconstructionists were on scene last night, with the intersection closed from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Police say the vehicle involved was not a commercial vehicle.

The Timmins Police Service is continuing its investigation into a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred during the evening hours of Thursday, August 14, 2014.

At approximately 9 p.m., the victim, a 60-year-old male, was crossing Algonquin Blvd at Mountjoy Street when he was struck by a vehicle.

The victim was transported to Timmins and District Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The motor vehicle collision remains under investigation by the Traffic Services Section at this time.

More details will be released as they become available.
