TimminsToday asked each of the candidates to submit a bio to introduce themselves to the voters. Here's Ward 4 (Porcupine) candidate John Curley's:

Resident of Wards 2 and 4 since the age of four.

Married 46 years with three lovely daughters and four beautiful granddaughters.

Retired: more time to commit to issues facing the city.

Presently I am a board member for Spruce Hill Lodge, Timmins Police Board, Committee of Adjustment, Timmins Non Profit Housing (chair), Legion Branch 287 Member, Life Member of Ontario Good Roads Association, Life Member of The Kinsmen Club of the Porcupine.

I feel fortunate with life in our city.

Giving back (some say paying it forward) not only gives me immense pleasure it makes communities better places for everyone to live in.

I have experience into the inner workings of city operations. We have many issues to contend with, we need a council that can work well together to move our community forward. Over the last four years (while not on council) I have still been approached and was able to guide people through their issues with success.
I have a deep desire to commit to a city that will foster growth and quality of life. Infrastructure is at the top of the list I don’t want to dwell on the past. I want to focus on finding solutions for our present and future issues.

My promise is to listen to your concerns, communicate with you and to work hard and to commit to work towards solving our city’s challenges.
