The Alzheimer Society Cochrane-Temiskaming is excited to announce the launch of a new #LightItUpBlue for Dementia campaign.

The campaign was created in preparation for Alzheimer Awareness month, which occurs every January.

The Light It Up Blue campaign was created to help raise awareness on Alzheimer disease, services available for families in our area and to help our community become more dementia friendly.

Blue light bulbs will be for sale at a cost of $20.00 each. $20 equates to the cost of one day of service in our Adult Day Program. Bulbs can be put outside for the whole month of January.

All funds raised by this campaign will stay within our local communities to support the adult day program. These funds will be used to subsidized families that may not be able to afford the Adult day program or provide an extra day for families needing more relief.

The adult day program is available to individuals of any age with a probable or confirmed diagnosis of Dementia. The program provides a chance to enjoy intentional activity designed to enhance well-being in a safe and supportive setting.

Our local society provides a wide range of services to families in Hearst, Kapuskasing, Timmins, Iroquois falls, Matheson, Kirkland Lake down to Temiskaming Shores.

For more information about our programs and services or to make a referral to our Adult Day Program call 705-264-4554 or Toll-Free 1-844-288-4554. You can also visit our website online here.
