'Wanted person' arrested at South Porcupine residence

Police say the unwanted person had been involved in a verbal dispute with another person

The Timmins Police Service arrested a local resident on the strength of an arrest warrant that was executed stemming from an incident that occurred during the evening hours of Sunday, Sept. 5 at a South Porcupine residence.

While responding to a complaint regarding an unwanted person who had been involved in a verbal dispute with another person, a Timmins Police Service officer located the subject of the complaint as he fleeing from the original scene.

The man was recognized as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Tiza Mutswiro, 44, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges that resulted in the arrest warrant being issued.
