Further investigation revealed that the accused was in possession of drugs suspected to be methamphetamine

KIRKLAND LAKE - On Sept. 26, 2021, frontline members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol in the Town of Kirkland Lake when they observed a person known to have a warrant for their arrest.

The accused was arrested and further investigation revealed that they were in possession of drugs suspected to be methamphetamine.

As a result, Linda Jolicoeur, 58 years old of Kirkland Lake, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Failure to Attend Court After Having Appeared - contrary to section 145(2)(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused was release on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear before The Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Oct. 28, 2021.
