Victim assaulted in Englehart break-and-enter

A 27-year-old faces assault, mischief charges as a result

TOWN OF ENGLEHART – On July 1, 2021 shortly after 1 a.m., members from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for an assault in the Town of Englehart.       

Further investigation revealed that an individual had broken into a residence and assaulted one of the individuals before fleeing on foot.  

A short time after, the same individual attended the Englehart OPP Detachment and caused mischief to the windows.  

Officers located and arrested the accused.  

Graham Snape, a 27-year-old resident of Evanturel Township has been charged with:   

  • Mischief under $5,000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code (CC)(two counts) 
  • Assault, contrary to section 266, of the CC  

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
