Two women arrested on outstanding warrants

The Timmins Police Service arrested two local persons on Saturday, Nov. 23 in separate incidents, on the strength of arrest warrants issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.

The Timmins Police Service was alerted to the fact that a wanted person had been located and detained in a police agency in a neighboring jurisdiction.

The woman was allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins. The woman was taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service once the validity of the warrant for outstanding criminal matters was confirmed.

As a result, Justine Linklater, 28, of Timmins, Ont., was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing where she was released from custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Dec. 10 to answer to the charges laid against her.

Additionally, a Timmins Police Service – Street Outreach and Community Safety officer was completing patrols of the downtown core area during the early afternoon hours when the officer recognized a woman as being a person who is allegedly wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant issued by the Provincial Court in Timmins.

The woman was interviewed by the officer. The validity of the warrant for outstanding criminal matters was confirmed by the officers.

As a result, Samantha Solomon, 35, of Timmins, Ont., was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing where she was released from custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Dec. 3 to answer to the charges laid against her.
