Two suffer minor injuries after altercation in Kirkland Lake: OPP

On Oct. 30, 2021, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault that occurred on Main Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

The investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place resulting in two victims being assaulted and suffering minor injuries.

As a result, Cole Galarneau, 28 years- of-age, from Kirkland Lake, was arrested and charged with;

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC) (Two Counts)
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, Suffocate or Strangle, contrary to section 267(c) of the CC.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 25, 2021, in Kirkland Lake.
