Two from Iroquois Falls accused of trafficking Percocets

IROQUOIS FALLS - On July 28, 2020, members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), South Porcupine Crime Unit and members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment executed a warrant on Paradis Street, in the Town of Iroquois Falls.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized suspected Percocet tablets, with an estimated street value of $1100.

Michael Child, age 51, and Rita Shirley, age 76, of Iroquois Falls, were arrested and charged with:

  •  Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

The accused were released on an undertaking and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Timmins on Sept. 29, 2020.
