Trespassing call at Timmins bank leads to assault charge

A trespassing call at a Timmins bank has led to an assault charge. 

Yesterday evening (Jan. 29), Timmins Police were called to a local bank about a person trespassing. 

The suspect was arrested and while they were being brought to the police vehicle, Timmins Police allege the suspect was combative with the officer. 

A 31-year-old man from Timmins is charged with assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing today. 

The charge has not been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
