Highway 11 was closed for 18 hours yesterday for the investigation into a fatal crash, say South Porcupine OPP.

The collision between a northbound commercial motor vehicle (CMV) and southbound passenger vehicle happened south of Municipal Road around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 16.

The identity of the victim has not been released. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in Toronto at the Centre for Forensic Sciences.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and includes OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) and the Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The Ministry of Environment was also notified because of a fuel leak on the CMV.

Highway 11 was closed between Municipal Road and the Highway 11 Junction for 18 hours, reopening around 7:30 p.m., said police.
