Traffic stop leads to impaired driving, drug charges in Iroquois Falls

Two people face multiple charges as a result

IROQUOIS FALLS – On Feb. 26, 2021 at approximately 2:16 p.m., members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 67, near Hopkins Road in Iroquois Falls.  

As a result of the investigation, two people have been arrested and charged.  

Rebecca Beaudoin, 18 years of age, of Iroquois Falls was charged with the following:   

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) - two counts, 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - other drugs contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA and, 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA  

Raymond Lebrun, 75 years of age, of Iroquois Falls was charged with the following:   

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA - two counts 
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance - other drugs contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA and, 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC.  

Both accused were released on an Undertaking and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 1, 2021 in Timmins.
