On Feb.  16, 2022, members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Prince Street in the Town of Hearst.

Police stopped the motor vehicle and spoke to the driver. Police requested the vehicle documents along with a valid driver's licence. The officer observed the driver's licence to have an "I" for Interlock and there was no Interlock device in the vehicle. • Operation while prohibited - legal restriction from any other act of parliament or provincial law, contrary to section 320.18(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Class G1 licence holder - unaccompanied by qualified driver, contrary to section 5(1) of the Highway Traffic Act O.Reg 340/94
