Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge for Kapuskasing driver

The 22-year-old faces impaired by alcohol and drug charges

KAPUSKASING - On Dec. 16, 2020 members of the James Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver in the Town of Kapuskasing. After locating the vehicle officers arrested and charged Jessie Gaudreault, 22 years old from Kapuskasing with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, Section 320. 14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Operation while Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), Section 320. (1) (b) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available, Section 12(1) of the Cannabis Control Act.

The accused was released by way of an undertaking, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 1, 2021, in Kapuskasing.

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
