Traffic complaint leads to firearm, impaired charges for Iroquois Falls man

On Sept. 7, 2020 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Matheson Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 11, east of Matheson.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew Rudolph, age 31, of Iroquois Falls was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the CC,
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) of the CC,
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order contrary to section 117.01(1) of the CC
  • Use plate not authorized for a vehicle contrary to section 12(1)(d) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and,
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Oct. 22, 2020, in Timmins, Ontario.

The OPP is reminding drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when driving.
