The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a stunt driving offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act stemming from an incident that occurred during the early evening hours of Sunday May 9 near the intersection of Mountjoy Blvd and Commercial Avenue in Timmins.

As a result of observations made by a Timmins Police Service officer, a traffic stop was initiated and the driver of the vehicle was interviewed by the officer. It was determined that the driver of the 2019 Dodge pickup had in fact engaged in unsafe driving behaviour that meets the threshold of “stunt driving."

As a result of the incident, Carl Black, 24 of Timmins, was charged with:

  • Stunt driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The vehicle used in the commission of these offences was towed from the scene and has been impounded.

Black was served with the applicable provincial offences act summons related to the offence listed above requiring him to attend at provincial court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
