Timmins man accused of urinating in apartment lobby

Police say a quantity of methamphetamine tablets were found on the suspect as well

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a number of Criminal Code offences stemming from an incident which occurred at a downtown apartment building during the morning hours of Tuesday, May 5.

A complaint of a man who had urinated in the building vestibule and caused other damage to the front lobby was received by the Timmins Police Service. Upon arrival, responding Timmins Police officers located the suspect and completed an arrest based on the details provided by the property manager.

A quantity of methamphetamine tablets was located on the suspect’s person while he was searched incident to arrest. The man was escorted from the scene and taken into custody by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of the incident, Faron Blais, 22, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Mischief - Destroy or interfere with lawful enjoyment of property contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to leave when directed contrary to the trespass to Property Act
  • Possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Two counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Two counts of fail to comply with sentence order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
