Timmins man accused of being 'demonstrably aggressive' towards police

The Timmins Police Service has investigated a disturbance that occurred early this morning in a residential neighbourhood in the north end of the city.

The Timmins Police Service responded to a report of an apparent break and enter in progress. The suspect fled the scene but was located by the responding officer.

Upon being interviewed, [it is alleged that] the male suspect became demonstrably aggressive and entered into a physical dispute with the police officer.

The suspect was eventually arrested despite continued attempts to resist being taken into police custody.

As a result, Jason Koosees, 44 of Timmins, has been charged with:
    •    two counts of assault – peace officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
    •    fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody for the purposes of a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
