Three wanted people arrested

The separate incidents took place in the past 24 hours

The Timmins Police Service arrested three local residents on the strength of respective Arrest Warrants which were executed at the scene of separate incidents yesterday.

While responding to a “suspicious person” call for service yesterday (Nov. 11) afternoon at a Sixth Avenue apartment building, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized the subject of the complaint as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Troy Etherington, 26, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

A quantity of a controlled substance was located on the subject’s person during the arrest procedure.

The suspect has been charged with a single count of possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.

In a separate incident, a “disturbance in progress” call for service was received at a Sixth Avenue apartment building during the evening hours of Thursday, Nov. 11.

A Timmins Police Service officer responded and located the subject of the complaint and recognized the subject of the complaint as being a “wanted person” named in a current arrest warrant held by the Timmins Police.

Once the validity of the warrant was confirmed, the subject was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result, Patrick Laporte, 26, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant.

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins.

In a separate incident, a Timmins Police officer took a suspect into custody yesterday evening on the strength of an arrest warrant stemming from an incident of mischief that had taken place the day before at a residence situated in the north end of the city.

As a result, Dakota Trumble, 22, of Timmins was arrested on the strength of the warrant and is charged with:

  • Mischief contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with release order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
