Three charged during Hearst drug bust

HEARST - On June 2, 2021 at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and members of James Bay Detachments OPP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Front Street in the Town of Hearst.

A search of the residence led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, suspected hydromorphone pills and cash.

As a result of the investigation Steve Roussy, 51 years old from Hearst, was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
    •    Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
    •    Possession of unmarked cigarettes, contrary to section 29(2) of the Tobacco Tax Act  

Lee Bloom, 43 years old from Hearst, was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 - in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

Roy Wesley, 63 years old from Hearst, was arrested and charged with:
    •    possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA

All three accused persons are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 28, 2021 in Hearst.
