Teen suspect evades police after LCBO break-in

A teen is facing charges and police are looking for a second suspect after a weekend break-in at the Timmins LCBO.

Early Saturday, Jan. 15, Timmins Police said someone forced the front door of the Waterloo Road business open with break-in tools,

Five bottles of liquor worth $218.75 were stolen. 

Police saw two suspects fleeing the scene on foot. 

A 19-year-old suspect evaded officers and Timmins Police now hold an arrest warrant for him.

A 16-year-old who cannot be named has been charged with:  

  • Break and Enter with Intent contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Possession of Break-in Instruments contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada 
  • Fail to Comply with Sentence contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada  

He was released on a strength of undertaking and is set to appear in court on Feb. 28.
