Suspicious person call leads to break-in arrest

The accused gained access to a residence by breaking a window

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local person with break and enter-related offences stemming from an incident that occurred early this morning at a Riverside Drive residence in Timmins.

An alert citizen notified the Timmins Police about a suspicious person lurking in the immediate area.

Responding Timmins Police officers located a male subject who had forced his entry into the residence and took him into custody.

Further investigation revealed that access to the residence had been gained by means of breaking a window.

As a result of the incident, Scott Nakogee, 27, of Timmins, has been charged with:

  • Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of Break and Enter Instruments contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
