Timmins Police is reminding drivers that a street that was used for months as a detour is back to being for one-way traffic only.

Mattagami Boulevard South is once again a one-way road for southbound traffic only, police said in a news release.

Since the spring, the road has been used for two-way traffic as a detour around the Connecting Link work being done on Algonquin Boulevard. That work wrapped up Friday. With traffic on Algonquin reopened to traffic, Mattagami Boulevard is also back to its normal function.

Since Friday, police said they've received a "number of complaints regarding 'near-miss' occurrences in this area."

Police said northbound traffic on Mattagami Boulevard is now strictly prohibited.

"Anyone found to be using this roadway in an improper manner or in conflict with the posted signage will likely have their comportment addressed by means of the issuance of an offence notice," reads the news release.
