Search warrant leads to charges in Iroquois Falls

A 42-year-old faces multiple charges

IROQUOIS FALLS – On Jan. 22, 2021 members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), the Iroquois Falls OPP Crime Unit with assistance from members of the Iroquois Falls OPP Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence on Cambridge Avenue in Iroquois Falls.  

As a result of the investigation, Steven Dumont, 42 years of age of Iroquois Falls was arrested and charged with the following:   

  • Theft under $5,000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC) - three counts, 
  • Break, Enter a place - commit an indictable offence contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC - two counts, 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC - three counts, 
  • Possession of break in instruments contrary to section 351(1) of the CC and, 
  • Mischief under $5,000 contrary to section 430(4) of the CC.  

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 11, 2021 in Timmins.
