Search warrant leads to break and enter arrest

28-year-old charged following Saturday incident in Kirkland Lake

KIRKLAND LAKE - On Oct. 30, 2021, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter at a residence on Lakeshore Road in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

As part of the investigation a search warrant was executed at a residence on Main Street in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

As a result, Cole Galarneau, 28 years of age of Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with the following:
    •    break, enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
    •    possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC
    •    theft under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC
    •    theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC

The accused was released on a Judicial Release Order and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 25, 2021 in Kirkland Lake.
