A traffic stop for a seatbelt infraction led to weapons charges.

Yesterday evening (Feb. 5), Timmins Police pulled over a vehicle for a seatbelt infraction. 

Police allege the suspect gave police a false name. During their arrest, police say weapons and a controlled substance were found. 

A 44-year-old man from Timmins is charged with personation with intent to mislead, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. 

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing today. 

None of the charges have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
