Police seize over $1K worth of suspected meth in Kirkland Lake drug investigation

KIRKLAND LAKE - On June 24, 2020, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) investigated a drug trafficking occurrence. 

Police seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine and crystal methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $1930.

As a result, Sabastien Lacroix, age 34, of Kirkland Lake, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) (two counts).

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on Aug. 27, 2020.
