Police seize over $10K in suspected fentanyl in Temiskaming Shores

A 41-year-old faces charges as a result

TEMISKAMING SHORES – On Feb. 25, 2021, shortly after 8 a.m. members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the North East Region (NER) OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a Drug Search Warrant on Blackwall Street in the City of Temiskaming Shores. 

Once inside the residence, the officers located and seized a quantity of suspected Fentanyl, a street value of $10,200.

As a result of the investigation, Tyler Hughes, a 41-year-old resident from Temiskaming Shores, has been arrested and charged with:   

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).  

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
