The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of investigating a brazen robbery that occurred at a Mountjoy Street North financial institution on Friday afternoon (Nov 12).

The investigation is in its initial phases coordinated by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Timmins Police Service, working in direct collaboration with platoon officers and the Forensic Identification Unit.

Timmins Police Service officers responded to the alarm call where a suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and fled the scene on foot.

The Timmins Police Service wish to advise the public that there is no immediate or persistent threat to public safety.

As a result of the incident, the Timmins Police are currently seeking to locate the suspect in order to complete an arrest
