Police release suspect images in laundromat break-in investigation

The Timmins Police is investigating an incident involving a criminal act of mischief and is seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, the Timmins Police responded to a report of an incident of mischief that occurred at a Wilson Avenue coin laundry facility.

Upon reporting for work, an employee discovered that willful damage had been caused to the building and vending machines found within.

The suspect had fled the scene prior to the employee attending the laundromat.

The Timmins Police has been provided with the video of the incident. Still photos derived from that video are provided in the hopes that someone will recognize the suspect.

The suspect entered through the main door and started to smash the coin machine with his backpack which contained bricks.

The suspect then caused other damage to a vending machine in the laundromat.

The suspect then attempted to gain entry into the ATM, however, was unsuccessful.

The suspect then took several chocolate bars from the vending machine and fled on foot.

The estimate of total damage in dollar figures is not currently known.

It is believed that the same suspect is responsible for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at approximately 2:30 p.m. at a Schumacher variety store.

In this instance, the suspect stole a bag of potato chips and ranch dip with a value of $9.99.
