Police looking for vehicle involved in hit-and-run

Police are looking for information on an older model Mazda CX-7, silver/grey in colour with silver rims involved in a hit and run on Jan. 24. The vehicle's seen here on CCTV footage.Timmins Police photo

Police are looking for help to pin down more information on a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run. 

The incident happened yesterday afternoon (Jan. 24) in the Commercial Avenue area. 

Timmins Police say the driver of an older model silver or grey Mazda CX-7 with silver rims fled the scene after a crash. 

The suspect vehicle was captured on CCTV footage and police are hoping that someone will "recognize the vehicle and maybe dig up a plate or an address."

"The vehicle should have damage to the front passenger side corner," said police in a news release. 

"Should the driver opt to turn themselves in, this gesture of taking responsibility would not go unnoticed by the officers investigating this matter."
